VERO

A series of live shows where the best Italian and international DJs/artists will take turns to recall the cultural and musical journey from the past to the future of Touch The Wood.

VERO is a sound designer, DJ, and music producer from Rondônia in the northwestern Amazonian region of Brazil, known for blending the area's rich musical influences with the ever-growing popularity of Brazil’s baile music internationally. She is the co-founder of “Mormaço”, an independent collective for emerging underground DJs in her hometown, where she leads efforts to promote the inclusion of female DJs and alternative music genres.

Her DJ sets incorporate into unique blends of São Paulo and Rio’s baile funk with Brazilian subgenres like favela bass, Brazilian rap, drill, and various funk styles.

VERO also keeps up with the rising visibility of the Latin-based rhythm “noiadance” from her region, often incorporating it into each mix. Her dynamic performances, including sets at local festivals and shared lineups with artists such as Clementaum and Adame DJ, offer a fresh perspective on the complexities of Brazilian music, bridging the gap between tradition and modernity without overlooking Amazonian musicality.
